If you have recently given birth or if your partner has recently given birth, there is a good chance that your life is a lot different now due to the fact that you have to spend a good deal of time caring for an infant. This can be frustrating because it might mean that you have to neglect your other priorities, such as exercise. You don't want to do this because this can have affects on your mental and physical health that you will not necessarily enjoy. Here are some tips for staying active after having a baby.

1. Get a Running Stroller

The first thing that you need to invest in is a running stroller, like a Pali Stroller. This is important because it will allow you to get out and about with your baby, as well as work a run into your daily life. Running strollers tend to have thicker wheels and stabilizers that will allow your baby to go over bumps without feeling too jostled and becoming scared. It also will give you a little bit of resistance while you are running which can help you gain strength and endurance more quickly. Running strollers tend to be very expensive, so see if there are any people that you know that are giving birth soon that might be interested in splitting the cost with you.

2. Change the Way You Think About Working Out

Before you had a baby, you might have gone to the gym for an hour or two after work. This can't happen anymore. Instead, you might need to learn to make do with little exercise sessions throughout the day. You might be able to work in fifty push-ups while you are waiting for dinner to cook or while you are waiting for your baby to finish smearing spaghetti on his or her face. You might be able to work in a thirty minute cardio video while your baby sleeps. Do your best to work in a few exercises here and there. It might be worth investing in some weights or some other items that will make it easier for you to work out while you are at home. Eventually your baby will be old enough for you to leave at the daycare center at your gym.

For more information, talk to a company that specializes in strollers. They will be able to analyze your gait and recommend the best stroller for your needs.
